The downtown, historical district of Frederick, MD plays host to a monthly event called "First Saturday." The first Saturday of each month finds shop owners, restaurateurs, and visitors skipping along Market St. as they are handed a flower to make a bouquet, given a bag of treats for their doggies, or anticipating a spectacular fireworks show. This all sounds pretty good right?
Well, the month of October really takes the cake! October's First Saturday is affectionately dubbed "In the Streets" which literally means the downtown crew takes it to the streets! Each block is shut down, tables come out, and everything from petting goats to 401k plans from the local banks are available to view.
Book Club Queen is proud to announce that this year, we will have a table in the Arts block of this event! We will be hosting a "Meet the Queenies" where readers can come and chat with the Queens behind BCQ. Even more enticing to readers will be the awesome Book Lover raffles we'll be hosting with great prizes such as book club sets, summer reading baskets, and even an Ipod Shuffle!
