So I just signed up for Facebook in an effort to remain "cool" when my little brother told me that "nobody's on myspace anymore." I thought, great - took me long enough to get into myspace and now I've got to change it up again!
I'll admit Facebook is pretty neat. If I can actually find a few hours to really mess around with it, I bet it could be pretty fun. Within an hour of signing up I was chatting away to an old college friend I haven't talked to in years! So kudos to the book for re-connecting me with an old friend!
Peter Shankman, God of all things PR, also seems to find Facebook the most handy for personal networking so it must be good. On top of that, every author, PR rep, and publishing house employee I've ever worked with seems to have a profile which is a pretty fantastic way to keep in touch.
And I can do neat little things like make bumper stickers and "poke" my little brother when I'm bored. It's also quite possible that I've just created a virtual bookshelf to spotlight all the books I'm reading right now.
Who uses myspace anymore anyway?....
