Oprah's At It Again!

You either love her or hate her. It's not often you find an "in between" opinion on Oprah.

Well I admit, I love her. I'm not as faithful of a viewer as some people I know but I think she is a genuine good soul who has worked hard for what she has and does a good job of "paying it back" to us little people, like authors!

It's no "secret" that Rhonda Byrne was catapulted to stardom with the help of a seat on Oprah's couch. She may have had a following before that but now she's a household name. My husband is currently working on his "secret" to get a good parking space everywhere we go.

So she's back at it with her newest book club selection - Eckhart Tolle's A New Earth - a self help book by an author who sold millions of The Power of Now.

I think it's fantastic that Oprah is helping this genre out and of course book clubs can't be all fiction. But could she pick something controversial again (A Million Little Pieces) or classic (Sula) for us non self-help readers?

I mean Eat. Pray. Love while cute just can't take the place of a fav like The Lovely Bones.

Guess I'll just keep waiting...
